Worker’s Compensation

In general, under Florida law, employers with four (4) or more employees must carry workers’ compensation insurance.  This form of insurance provides wages and reimbursement of medical expenses for an employee who has been injured while on the job.  In exchange for receiving these benefits; however, the employee must give up their right to sue his or her employer for negligence, which may have been the cause of the resulting injury.

If you have been injured on the job and are not sure what steps you need to take next in order to protect your rights, call Dorta & Ortega, PA.  We can assist you through the process of making a claim, represent you when your claim has already been denied by your employer or the insurance company, or even file suit against a possible third party who might also be liable. Your employer and the insurance companies have attorneys working for them, why wouldn’t you?
