Attorney Jimena Herrera

Jimena Herrera is an Associate Attorney at Dorta & Ortega, P.A. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Florida International University in 2022. She earned her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 2026 where she was the recipient of the Deans Merit Scholarship.

During law school, Ms. Herrera served on the board for the Race and Social Justice Law Review as Article and Comments Editor and Social Media Manager. She was also an active member of the Hispanic Law Students Association.

Ms. Herrera also gained practical legal experience through internships. She clerked at the Third District Court of Appeals both in the Clerk of Courts office and in chambers as a summer law clerk. Additionally, she clerked at a civil litigation law firm specializing in employment discrimination insurance defense and education law.

Ms. Herrera is fluent in Spanish, and is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
