Angie Olivan is an Associate Attorney at Dorta & Ortega, P.A. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and International Relations from Florida International University in March 2015. She graduated cum laude from St. Thomas School of Law in Miami, FL, in May 2021, with a Juris Doctor Degree.

During law school, Ms. Olivan held several leadership roles and actively participated in school organizations. She served as President of the Maritime Law Society, Vice President of the Business Law Society, Staff Editor for the St. Thomas Law Review, and was a member of the St. Thomas Law Moot Court team. Ms. Olivan also earned a Certificate in Maritime and Admiralty Law and a Business Law Certificate.

Ms. Olivan gained practical legal experience through internships and volunteer work. She interned at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office and served as a Judicial Intern. After he first year of law school she had the honor of being guided and mentored by the late Federal Judge Marcia Cooke of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Additionally, Ms. Olivan contributed to the Academic Success Program (“ASP”), assisting first-year law students in achieving academic success.

Recognized for academic excellence, Ms. Olivan was a member of the Dean’s List all three years of law school. Ms. Olivan continued to excel academically, earning the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and a Pro Bono Commendation for completing over 300 hours of pro bono work.

Ms. Olivan is fluent in Spanish, proficient in French and Portuguese. She is also a member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
